New hardware
New places for Haiku.
Device support built in the airOS forks. These notes describe tested configurations, with the remaining gaps alongside them.

Native NVIDIA graphics and hardware video decoding, with an experimental encoding path.
Graphics & NVDEC tested · NVENC experimental Graphics and video support
- Native display output through nvidia_rm, with dual 4K monitors, per-display scaling and desktop arrangement
- Mesa NVK Vulkan and Zink OpenGL 4.5 on the tested Pascal cards
- NVDEC hardware H.264 decoding through a system media add-on: tested GTX 1080 Ti streams match FFmpeg software decoding byte for byte
- NVDEC decoded the recorded 1080p test at 232 frames per second; NVPlay provides playback with audio and seeking
- Experimental NVENC integration in MediaConverter for H.264, HEVC Main and HEVC Main 10 on compatible encoder generations
- NVENC must pass an encode/decode self-test for each card and format before use; failed or unavailable encoding paths use the CPU
Still in progress
NVENC has not yet been validated on an NVIDIA card; its application integration was tested with a software stand-in. B-frame encoding is not implemented, and AV1 encoding uses the CPU, including on Ada and Blackwell. Verified NVDEC coverage is progressive 8-bit 4:2:0 H.264; interlaced, 4:2:2 and higher-bit-depth streams are unsupported and may fail to play instead of falling back. NVIDIA 2D drawing remains unaccelerated. These results describe the earlier Pascal workstation configuration, not every NVIDIA GPU.
